After joining West Stokes as an assistant principal in 2012, I was awarded the privilege of being named principal in October of 2013. Since that time, we have increased the graduation rate to over 90% while making consistent advancements in our academic proficiency and growth. West continues to explore various avenues to challenge our students. The expansion of our partnership with Forsyth Tech Community College to increase dual enrollment opportunities through the Career and College Promise program is an example of our most recent endeavor.
With a spirited student body of nearly 900 as support, the Wildcat athletic teams compete for conference championships annually. Over the past couple years, West has increased our offerings to include men's and women's lacrosse. In addition to athletic prowess, West Stokes boasts an excellent arts program with talented students often moving from high school to college to pursue their passion. After navigating the trials of the pandemic in 2020-2021, I was selected Stokes County Principal of Year. I am proud to have recent graduates share their current story with me when I see them in the community. I am proud to have my own children attending West Stokes and look forward to seeing the school continue to excel since my departure in 2021. As always, Go Cats! |
